Gwen Stefani is so cool!

Over the years, RuffleButts and RuggedButts have been spotted on the kiddos of celebrities including Jana Kramer, Jessica Simpson, Ali Landry, Rebecca Romijn, Giuliana Rancic and Jessica Alba, and we are truly honored each and every time! Today, when we spotted Rugged Butts on Apollo (the little cutie that calls Gwen Stefani mom) for the 2nd time this year, we were honestly a bit giddy. Gwen Stefani is just plain cool. We envy her effortlessly perfect looks and I personally dream of pulling off such style. She is an incredible designer, clearly a stellar businesswoman, a talented singer and performer, seems to be a genuinely kind person, and was one of my most memorable concerts of all time! So today, we are excited to share the most recent spotting of Apollo in our Buffalo Plaid Button Down.

It truly never gets old seeing adorable kiddos rock our designs, celebrity or not. Such an honor!

A mom is a mom

We are seemingly surrounded by celebrity baby buzz on a daily basis as celebrity moms grace the covers of many a magazine and their little tots are followed around by the papparazzi like they are celebrities themselves! I think we tend to forget that these talented women are really a lot like us in many ways. I am finding that a mom is a mom, and when it comes down to it, that title alone unites us in some weird way. Weather you are a business owner, actress, accountant, or stay-at-mom, once you bring a little life into this world, you just understand.

So, I received an email from a well-known actress and she couldn't have been sweeter. I am always thrilled to receive positive feedback from our customers, as it truly makes what I do so incredibly rewarding! I have to share, not only because this really made my day, but also to show you how down-to-earth and gracious some of these celebrity moms truly are...

Celebrity Parents

Wow, what a whirlwind of a weekend! So, Emily and I returned late on Sunday from our Pre-Golden Globes Gifting Suite experience. I am happy to report that everything went well, and RuffleButts was all the buzz with the celebrity parents!

We were first approached by Kellie Martin from ER (and I'm sure we all remember her from Life Goes On!), exclaiming "Oh, these are so cute!" She and her husband shared this adorable story about when they were recently putting their daughter to sleep for the night, and she didn't want to take off her tutu, telling them that a princess never takes off her tutu. They told us their new RuffleButts would be perfect under that tutu! This family was super sweet and we were thrilled to introduce them to this tutu solution.



Shortly after their visit, we were excited to meet "Harry" from Sex and the City. Even Handler picked up a pair of RuffleButt Bloomers for his 2 year old daughter. I am such a "Sex and the City" fan, so that was a fun one!





Next came Tim Allen and his wife Jane Hajduk, who were really great sports. They picked up a Swiss Dot RuffleButt diaper cover for their little bun in the oven. This picture was also used in some press coverage on Babble.com !

We were also excited to see Jeri Ryan, Ali Landry and Jodi Sweetin, all of whom told us that their daughters have RuffleButts at home in their closets. Ali picked up a new Swiss Dot pair for her daughter, while Jeri also picked this embroidered fabric bloomer.

So, this is the scoop for now, but I will definitely be posting more on the website soon. Our new Spring line just arrived from the factory last week, so we are busy, busy taking orders from our retail partners. Orders are always good and keep us in business, so I'm off to process more orders!! Keep your eyes on the website next month, as we are super excited by the fabulous feedback received so far!

Gracious celebrities

I just received a note card in the mail from the Ballard Family thanking me for my generosity and praising our RuffleButts. I must say that I am so pleasantly surprised by this true act of consideration and kindness. Of all the celebrities that visited us at the Boom Boom Room this past January, this is the first to send us a thank you note. With that said, I do understand what a huge task it would be to send thank you notes to all of the incredible companies that participated in the event, and never expected this from anyone. I think this says so much about this family that they went through the effort of either accomplishing this on their own, or through the expense of hiring someone to do this for them.

I must give total praise here, and if you are not already a fan, I hope this gives you a new respect for this talented Actor and his family - Alimi (David Sinclair on CBS' Numbers), Dahn, Naya & Kairo Ballard. This is obviously a beautiful family, both inside and out!

Celebrity babies

Wow, what a whirlwind of a week!! My husband and I just returned home from Los Angeles on a red-eye flight early this morning after an amazing star-studded experience. As many of you know, RuffleButts received an exclusive invitation to participate in the 2008 Boom Boom Room. This celebrity gifting event is a pre-celebration to the Golden Globes for celebrities, socialites, media & other Hollywood well-knowns.

First, please let me say, that we were honored to be included with some of the amazing products that we spotted at the event, including the oh-so-adorable Baby Fabulous personalized blankets! Fashion insider Jayneoni Moore selects the hottest must haves for celebrity babies and organizes this fabulous event to showcase and share these products on an annual basis. RuffleButts was thrilled to be included in this exclusive list for 2008!

Of course the biggest question I have received from friends and family is the obvious "so who did you see...and which celebrity was the nicest?" Okay, well maybe they ask it the other way around, but I'm going to go with the polite version! So, here's my report...

We had the pleasure of meeting so many fabulously supportive and gracious people...truly! Carnie Wilson walked into the room clapping and exclaimed: "The fact that you have 'butt' in your name is genius. I love that!" She was a huge fan of the little ruffled diaper covers and took one home for her daughter Lola, 2 1/2. She was amazingly supportive and could not have been nicer!

It was so great to hear all of the celebrities reminiscing about their childhoods, growing up in their own little ruffled diaper covers, which seem to have disappeared over the years. They were all so excited to see us bringing back this staple wardrobe piece from the past. Jodi Sweetin was super sweet and told me about her first Christmas when she wore her little red dress and matching ruffled diaper cover. Now she'll have one for her little girl, which she is expecting with husband Cody Herpin. Kelly Hu shared a very humerous story about her childhood in Hawaii, growing up poor and a tomboy. She told me of a girl, an only child with her little ruffled bottom. Kelly was so jealous of the little girl that she remembers clearly chasing her around and snapping her 'ruffle butts'. Kelly was incredibly sweet and quite funny sharing this childhood memory!

Ali Landry loved the aqua RuffleButt diaper cover so much that she requested the matching swing top on the spot! She also shared her fondness for fancy pants explaining: "I love the ruffles! Growing up in Louisiana, I was always in my ruffles. My daughter wears them all of the time, but doesn't have all of these great colors...yet."

Salli Richardson Whitfield (I.am.legend) was a huge fan of the "So Blessed" Tee and coordinating fuchsia RuffleButt, requesting the set for her little angel Parker! Angela Bassett was also such a fan of the "So Blessed" Tee and coordinating Crawlers, she requested one at first sight for her daughter Bronwyn. Caroline Kunitz loved her daughter Chloe's new RuffleButts so much that she replaced her pants with the new lavender ruffled diaper cover just minutes after leaving the suite.

Kim Porter exclaimed as she saw our big RuffleButt sign, "Oh my gosh, we need some RuffleButts. I just can't get over the name, so cute." Giuliana DePandi picked up a pair for her sister and wished me much success with the business. She always seems to pleasant on E! (which is one of my favorite guilty pleasures), but it was so nice to see her genuine sincerity. And the top of my list for pure graciousness...Matt Samson (Days of Our Lives) & his lovely wife. They were two of the most sincere and gracious people I have ever met, celebrity or not! It was truly my pleasure to share the RuffleButt brand with their adorable daughter.

Jayneoni and staff, job well done! It was a fabulous event and we were honored to be included. I am incredibly blessed that the RuffleButts brand has been so well received since our August 2007 debut, but to see the amazing reactions of these celebrities, I just can't wait to see what this exciting year will bring!
